Alpha Orthopaedics' AT3 System Receives Market Clearance From the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Clearance further expands Alpha Orthopaedics' product portfolio HAYWARD, Calif. (April 8, 2010) – Alpha Orthopaedics, Inc. is pleased to announce that its innovative AT3™ System has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA, thereby clearing the device for commercial distribution in the U.S. The AT3 System delivers RF energy while cooling tissue by conduction and is indicated for use in general surgical procedures for electrocoagulation. The AT3 System is used to treat painful conditions of the musculoskeletal structures, including, but not limited to injured tendons and ligaments (connective tissue), such as tendinosis and fasciosis. The clinical benefit of the technology resides in its ability to induce the body’s wound healing response. The Alpha Orthopaedics AT3 System works in a totally non-invasive fashion, whereas other radiofrequency generators utilized for this purpose require an open procedure.
