Background

The application of thermal energy has well-established therapeutic benefits.  To date, low level non-ablative heat can be delivered by a number of technologies in the marketplace.  Higher temperatures that will induce unraveling of collagen structures and a true stimulation of the wound healing response are all invasive and ablative in nature.  Alpha Orthopaedics brings to the market place a real breakthrough in technology, a platform that, via noninvasive electrocoagulation, generates high level temperatures in deep tissues, inducing the wound healing response.

In the treatment of pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, Alpha Orthopaedics' AT2™ technology offers physicians a new tool to perform otherwise invasive procedures in a non-invasive manner. This innovative approach equips the physicians with a truly effective non-invasive option when treating conditions of tendons, ligaments, muscles, fasciae, and joints, preserving invasive measures for recalcitrant cases.

Our products are based on our reverse thermal gradient technology, which uses monopolar capacitive-coupled Radiofrequency (mcRF) energy to generate non-invasive electrocoagulation, inducing the denaturation of stranded collagen fibers and stimulating the wound healing response without damaging the skin or subcutaneous layers.

The AT2™ Technology

The AT2 System delivers thermal energy non-invasively to connective structures in a safe and effective manner.  Using radiofrequency (RF) energy and reverse thermal gradient technology, the AT2 System simultaneously provides active cooling of the upper layers of tissue while delivering thermal energy at the target structure (tendons, muscles, ligaments, capsules, fasciae) to evoke the wound healing cascade addressing the underlying pathological process.
